It is a national forum convened by the Turks and Caicos Islands Sports Commission that brings policymakers, sport federations, coaches, athletes, parents and private partners together to align on the future of sport in the Turks and Caicos Islands. It is the annual anchor of a long-term commitment to a national sport system.
The Digital Resource Hub extends the work of the National Athlete & Sport Ecosystem Symposium beyond the event itself. It brings together the ideas, resources, recordings and information shared through the Symposium so they can continue to inform athletes, families, coaches, schools, federations, private-sector partners and other stakeholders across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The Hub is intended to be a practical resource for strengthening understanding, supporting athlete development and encouraging greater alignment across the sport system.
The Hub is for anyone who has a role in, or interest in, the development of sport in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
This includes athletes, parents and families, coaches, schools, national sport governing bodies, private-sector partners, sports professionals, community stakeholders and others working to support athlete development and a stronger national sport system.
No. The Symposium addressed the full athlete development system, from participation through high performance and national representation.
The pathway recognizes that participation in sport for health, enjoyment, social connection, youth development and community is itself a valuable outcome. At the same time, athletes with the potential and commitment to progress toward national representation can enter a structured performance pathway.
The Symposium focused on the need to strengthen the systems around athletes, not simply the athletes themselves.
Key areas included early identification and development, coaching quality, athlete support services, student-athlete development, gender equity, governance, investment and stronger coordination across stakeholders.
The underlying principle was clear: talent alone is not enough. Athletes need the structure, support and opportunities necessary to develop and progress.
Yes. The resources are intended to support continued conversation and engagement across the sport community.
Stakeholders are encouraged to use and share relevant materials in ways that help athletes, families, coaches, schools, federations and partners better understand their roles within the wider system.
The Symposium was intended as a starting point for continued work around athlete development and strengthening the sport ecosystem in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Future programmes, initiatives and developments may build from the priorities identified through this work. Information about specific initiatives will be shared through the Turks and Caicos Islands Sports Commission as they are developed.
